Pile into the car. Because even though it’s a ‘vacation’, we still have to get up around the same time that we would to go to school.

Drive nonstop through Pennsylvania and West Virginia. Owen will probably drive us up a wall by making us listen to songs from Encanto, his latest musical craze. Dad will probably also make us listen to 80s rock, which is literally no better.

Stop by the Arby’s we always make a pit stop at, and race to touch the brick wall in the parking lot, because Mason would always win at that game. I could never beat him in races no matter how hard I tried.

Continue driving. Dad will refuse to make stops because he always likes to see just how many miles to the gallon he can get in his car. Mom will try and force him to drink lots of Gatorade, so we need to swing by gas station restrooms. She will give Owen and me $20 to spend in the gas station store for snacks. Mistakes will be made.

We will arrive at Uncle Waylon’s house and will eat dinner there and stop by Krispy Kreme. Mason used to be obsessed with watching the donuts get glazed on the machines.
